Visual Essay: Color
These video clips, taken from children's TV shows of the 1980's, offer a possible explanation for the fauvist-like obsession with bright primary and secondary colors put to use by contemporary artists who were children of that generation. An overwhelming obsession with the rainbow and the suggestive power of such colors to instill a sense of eternal happiness and understanding is the overt theme running throughout all these shows.
